My Full Day !

This is blog post 10, my final one :(

Unfortunately, this week is my last week of mentoring with Miss Loless' 2nd grade class.

What can I say, I've learned a lot.

Today I was in the classroom before the kids and they all seemed surprised to see me.

Once all the kids got into the room, we sat down on the carpet for a morning meeting.

Almost all of the kids shared out a celebration and we all greeted each other doing something they call "floppy fish".

Basically, floppy fish is where you flop your hands against your neighbor's hand... like a fish ! We did that all around the circle.

Once we made it around the circle, we talked about how to perfect opinion writings.

When he students were sent out to try to perfect their writing pieces, I walked around and helped the kids gather ideas while Miss Loless worked with her reading groups.

During math, the students learned how to label a clock and tell time. They were pretty good at it considering all the digital clocks everywhere.

We then moved into a science lesson about weather. The students were really into it and I even learned some things myself.

We finished off the day with some extra recess... the kids really deserved it. They earned all their letters for behaving !
